The basic element that distinguishes yoga practice from other exercises is the intentional integration of breath, posture, and movement.

I have to confess that my body was not flexible at the beginning. This One-Legged Royal Pigeon Pose or Eka Pada Rajakapotasana was a challenge to me.

My fingers could not reach and hold my feet. I had problem to rotate my spine to create backbend. Even now I can’t achieve the desirable rotation at my hip.

Oh well I just have to be patient. Nothing come without effort.

I learnt yoga years ago. I continue practicing it because I know the best way to remember each pose is to keep doing it.

But only after I learnt meditation, I knew the better of it.

It makes me think more clearly, breathe more effortlessly, and move more efficiently – the integration of mind, breath, and body.

And hey how about you?

Have you struggled to do a particular yoga pose?
